Whole Home Redesign | Lincoln Park, Chicago
Transform a landmark historic complex, originally an 1870s three-story brick barn, dairy distribution center, and artist studio, into a modern single-family residence, balancing historic preservation with contemporary design and carving out private outdoor courtyards within the full-lot footprint. This Lincoln Park custom construction project was a collaborative build where our team executed the full interior buildout and outdoor living spaces in partnership with the interior designer, who led the interior decoration.
Project Highlights
Bright Indoor-Outdoor Living Carved into a Full-Lot Footprint: Opened up a dark, historic masonry structure by carving out a central ground-floor courtyard and three private upper terraces, allowing the family to enjoy seamless outdoor living right in the city.
Effortless Multi-Level Flow for Family Connection: Replaced a choppy, industrial layout with an open steel-and-glass floating staircase, custom terrazzo living areas, and light-filled spaces designed for natural everyday movement.
Personalized Retreats and Custom Architectural Millwork: Tailored every floor to the family’s daily routines with custom built-in bunk beds, private bathroom suites, and integrated storage that maximize space across all three levels.
